    Q & A.
Question: Would you be able to clarify some confusion on two teachings which appear to be opposite but must really be the same: for example Wayne Liquorman saying there is no choice and Gangaji saying there is choice to be made along with others in both of those teachings?
Answer: Both 'teachings' are rooted in non-duality, so clarification cannot be guaranteed as words are rather limited in matters pertaining to non duality. All that can be done is to offer some concepts and metaphors that may or may not serve as pointers. Please don't take them as the truth as words are dualistic by their very nature. Even this question/answer setup is clearly dualistic: It presupposes a 'me' that doesn't know and another 'me' that does. Investigation may show this to be untrue. It may show that there is only One Being, appearing as everything, including apparent separate characters.
With this disclaimer in mind, let me suggest a third option that may reconcile the apparent opposing teachings you mentioned above.
"There is choice, but there is no separate, individual choice-maker."
What is suggested here is that there is no individual entity, even when there is a strong sense to the contrary. From the non-dual perspective such a sense of separation is again Oneness appearing as such a belief. It is useless to simply accept or reject this. Have a look and find out if there really is a 'you' doing the looking.
Notice the thoughts that come up around these words and see if there is an independent thinker producing these thoughts. Can he/she be found apart from thought or is the 'I' in "I think." itself a thought? What is it that notices the thoughts? The quick answer may be "I do." but who or what is this 'I' without words?
Up till this point, the reading of these words simply happened without the thought "I read." being in the picture. Is there really a need for a 'you' who claims to do the thinking and the reading, or does it happen by itself?
For the sake of conversation the sentences "I read.", "I think." and "I choose." are useful, but when investigation happens, it may be seen that the 'I' in "I choose" has as much substance as the 'it' in "It rains."
All these words can be understood as an attempt to explain the taste of honey, but they are simply pointers to the honey pot and an invitation to taste for 'your self'. One taste and the words can be forgotten... by no one.

    The Golden Eternity
50 If the golden eternity was anything other than mere words, you could not have said "golden eternity." This means that the words are used to point at the endless nothingness of reality. If the endless nothingness of reality was anything other than mere words, you could not have said "endless nothingness of reality," you could not have said it. This means that the golden eternity is out of our word-reach, it refuses steadfastly to be described, it runs away from us and leads us in. The name is not really the name. The same way, you could not have said "this world" if this world was anything other than mere words. There's nothing there but just that. They've long known that there's nothing to life but just the living of it. It Is What It Is and That's All It Is.
62 This world has no marks, signs, or evidence of existence, nor the noises in it, like accident of wind or voices or heehawing animals, yet listen closely the eternal hush of silence goes on and on throughout all this, and has been gong on, and will go on and on. This is because the world is nothing but a dream and is just thought of and the everlasting eternity pays no attention to it. At night under the moon, or in a quiet room, hush now, the secret music of the Unborn goes on and on, beyond conception, awake beyond existence. Properly speaking, awake is not really awake because the golden eternity never went to sleep; you can tell by the constant sound of Silence which cuts through this world like a magic diamond through the trick of your not realizing that your mind caused the world.
64 ....suddenly realizing I didn't even have a body and a mind and nothing had ever happened and everything is alright forever and forever and forever, O thank you thank you thank you.
65 This is the first teaching from the golden eternity.
66 The second teaching from the golden eternity is that there never was a first teaching from the golden eternity. So be sure.

From: The Scripture of the Golden Eternity By:"Jack Kerouac"
Note: Jack Kerouac wrote this in response to Gary Snyder's suggestion that he write his first Sutra. In 1960, when he presented it to his publisher, he said, "While I was writing this, I thought I knew what it meant, but now I don't know anymore."

Conversation
God and I in space alone
and nobody else in view.
"And where are the people, O Lord," I said,
"the earth below and the sky o'er head
and the dead whom once I knew?"

"That was a dream," God smiled and said,
"A dream that seemed to be true.
There were no people, living or dead,
there was no earth, and no sky o'er head;
there was only Myself -- in you."

"Why do I feel no fear," I asked,
"meeting You here this way?
For I have sinned I know full well--
and is there heaven, and is there hell,
and is this the Judgment Day?"

"Nay, those were but dreams,"
the Great God said,
"Dreams that have ceased to be.
There are no such things as fear or sin;
there is no you -- you never have been--
there is nothing at all
but Me."

    Smile of the moment!

One day in the Garden of Eden
One day in the Garden of Eden, Eve calls out to God.

"Lord, I have a problem!"

"What's the problem, Eve?"

"Lord, I know you created me and provided this beautiful garden and all of these wonderful animals and that hilarious snake, but I'm just not happy."

"Why is that, Eve?" came the reply from above.

"Lord, I am lonely, and I'm sick to death of apples."

"Well, Eve, in that case, I have a solution. I shall create a man for you."

"What's a man, Lord?"

"This man will be a flawed creature, with many bad traits. He'll lie, cheat, and be vain; all in all, he'll give you a hard time. But he'll be bigger, faster, and will like to hunt and kill things. He will look silly when he's aroused, but since you've been complaining, I'll create him in such a way that he will satisfy your physical needs. He will be witless and will revel in childish things like fighting and kicking a ball about. He won't be too smart, so he'll also need your advice to think properly."

"Sounds great." says Eve, with an ironically raised eyebrow.

What's the catch, Lord?"

"Well ... you can have him on one condition."

"What's that, Lord?"

"As I said, he'll be proud, arrogant, and self-admiring ... So you'll have to let him believe that I made him first. Just remember, it's our little secret...
"You know, woman to woman."
