Q & A
If or when you have a question you'd like to see answered in this newsletter mail to: author@awakeningtothedream.com
Question: I do not use drugs or drink. Recently, morphing forms within occur....they are so beautiful and seem strangely familiar. It seems like the awareness of them began when I started to regularly do imagination exercises which have been created (through "me").
If there is anything that "you" would like to say to this, please do:)
Answer: All experiences from doing the shopping to a full blown mystical experience are the content of Awareness. Awareness can not be objectified by the mind, just like sight is invisible to the eye. It is as clear and simple as space and yet indescribable. Just try to describe 3 dimensional space and see how impossible that is. Seeing this is not something difficult and yet it is beyond the mind's ability to capture it in words. The mind needs concepts, words, thoughts and pictures while Awareness is the invisible context in which the mind/experiences appear. See what happens when you switch attention from the content to the context. Stay with that silent emptiness, discover that the 'me' is also an object in this Awareness. And then, see that only the seeing is left without 'someone' doing it. Let yourself dis-solve and nothing needs to be solved.
Question: Who are you?
Answer: This question is most valuable when directed to yourself. Find out who or what you truly are and you will know who or what I am.
Be the way you are.
The following story landed one day in my mailbox. I don't know it's origin or author, but it is a great pointer to total acceptance and simply being who or what you are; even when you're considered to be a crackpot.
A water bearer in India had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which he carried across his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.
At the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to his house. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do.
After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. I am ashamed of myself, and I want to apologize to you. I have been able to deliver only half my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house. Because of my flaws, you have to do all of this work, and you don't get full value from your efforts," the pot said.
The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side? That's because I have always known about your flaw, and I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you've watered them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.
